Initiatives of KARESA

Karesa, or backyard in English, is a digital initiative designed to bring rural women micro-entrepreneurs into the digital economy. We believe that equitable economic growth is possible only when we promote sustainable farming practices, fair trade fundamentals, and transparent business processes.

Urban Karesa

Urban Karesa is the practice of growing food in urban areas, such as cities, towns, and suburbs. This form of farming aims to produce fresh, locally grown food for urban residents, reduce food miles and carbon emissions associated with food transportation, and promote sustainable agriculture.
